Just wondering if anyone has had a problem with their motors running at an unreasonably high temperature, and if they have designed any methods for cooling it down. It seems that my new tumbler enjoys the heat so I've designed a simple little cooling box for the Qt66 motor figured i'd post it up here in case anyone was interested in using the design.
Step 1) Its simple get 2 small dasani water bottle roughly 24 oz and fill them both with water and freeze them.
Step 2) Purchase a cpu fan of decent quality I used a 19.99 one. I removed it off the metal core, and then reattached it inside a metal 1040 junction box, a piece of block wood 3" X 3" will do. Then I mounted the box directly behind the motor. Leave enough space to fit the waterbottle between the fan and the motor. flowing air onto the water bottle pushes cold air open brush end of the motor, and it flows out the front...thus pushing the hot air away from the motor and cooling the motor simultaneously. To propel this motor use a 12 volt battery from your local radio shack. I'm putting together a resistance board so that I will be able to splice the little fan to run on the same power as the motor...once I have more time.
If anyone has any ideas of something more conventional and that will work as good if not better.

I do not like such high maintenance. I would consider drilling some holes in the top, sides, and bottom. Heat is a byproduct of energy, and some motors need heat to operate properly. There could also be some extra load on the drive and driven rollers.

After getting over my wonderful male driven issues I decided to read the directions that accompanied the Qt66 and found out that it is designed to run hot. So my wonderful coolingsystem was for naught.
