Hi all! I sliced a piece off an ocho geode, and shaped it into a cab, and played with the Eni Oken style to wrap it. Whaddya think? ~Dee

Very nice! I love the way you created a bezel out of the spirals.

Hey everyone, thanks! I just love the ochos. I've tried wrapping them a number of ways, shaped or just the slice. Still haven't found the 'perfect' way, but this was fun to do!

Gosh Dee.. I just love your style. You always seem to come up with totally unique ways to wrap a cab. The Ocho is great too! Dan

I love it - the "laciness" of the Eni style suits the laciness of the geode. Gorgeous!

Hi Dee, I think your wrap & choice of stone are beautiful. I am a novice wrapper & wondered what Eni Oken style is? I imagine that it somehow describes the style of this wrap, but can you please explain what it is to me? Thank you, & again, beautiful wrap!

Wow Dee, that's a really nice finished piece! I know next to nothing about wrapping but I do know when I like how something looks.

Thanks for the nice comments! You guys are the best~ azrockhound, here's Eni's site. www.enioken.com/Eni is very generous with her designs, and encourages people to experiment, lets people use her designs and tutorials, just not 'copy' exactly if you're interested in selling your work. I've been on 'eni fan' forums, and she even judges 'contests' there, that take off from her designs. Those are fun to see what people do!

Hi Dee, I checked out your blog & saw that you will be coming on the Burro Creek trip. I will be there too probably Thursday-Sunday & am looking forward to meeting you & everyone from the board. I have a question for you - would it be too much trouble to show me how you make that style of bezel that you used for the Ocho wrap? I know how to make the regular wraps, but don't quite understand how this is made & how the swirls are incorporated. Have a great day! Patti

Sure, I'll bring my jewelry kit. The swirls are seperate pieces of silver. Then wrapped together with the base wire with 26 gauge. 28? It'll be fun to meet you in person!

Hi Dee, Thanks! I look forward to meeting you too! Do you like any particular kinds of stones? I have a lot of very good material, both rough & slabs, & some nice tumbled stuff too that's great for wrapping. Let me know & I'll bring you some pieces for helping me out. Look at my website & let me know if you see any kind of stone you like & I'll dig some up for you. Patti

Patti,
That would be awesome! We do love rock, don't we? ;D
I have a workforce saw, so I like cabbing from slabs. I have a 10 saw I bought on ebay, but only used it once. I got drenched in oil, since it has no cover!
I looked at your site. Very cool! I was most taken by the plume and marcasite, but any would be great! I like the lavendars and blues too...
Burro Creek is going to be fun! Hunting rock by day, hanging around later, wrapping by lamp light!
Dee
