I couldn't help myself, had to go ahead and do another. Small rough peice of green flint from Southern Oklahoma. Thanks to all for the advise and encouragement, I went ahead and ordered copper to practise with but I just couldn't wait for it, this stuff is addictive!

3 is already better than 2, WTG! Just for fun, try to hammer flat that spiral.

I don't catch your meaning Adrian, do you mean hammer "texture" the spiral?

Yep, that is what he meant...whack that bugger with a hammer (chasing on is best, but I've used a regular ol hammer) ;D GREAT job on the pendant! It is indeed habit forming...this wire!

I don't catch your meaning Adrian, do you mean hammer "texture" the spiral? That's what I ment, Grandpaw. In this wrap, I hammered the spiral and made it flat. Then, with a plier, I pinched that spiral in order to obtain that pattern. As you can see, I also hammer my binding wires to make them flat (this way, they become also a litle harder and I like that too) Oh, I forgot to mention: don't hammer the wire using the rock as an anvil. Use for this a litle anvil or another hammer. Adrian

Ahh I see. Being a blacksmith for the last 15 years I don't know why I didn't think of that. I like the spiral you did very much, flattening the wraps is too hard for me at this point though, I am having a hard enough time holding the wires straight while wrapping them. Now if I was to try wrapping that huge slab your looking for in your sig I would be a bit more used to the size. <grin>

Haha, I doubt even an elephant could wear it as a pendant!
