This is my 5th attempt at this. Oh, it's brass 21g sq practice wire and I DO need the practice.

It does take a while, but it's so relaxing! Keep practicing and posting! Beautiful stone too. The pliers I use most for the binding is smooth flat nose pliers, it really makes for a nice even binding, if you 'flatten' each bend as you go.
Where did you buy brass square wire?

Looks like you have the right idea.. Is the brass wire hard to work with? Silver may be easier.. Raquel

You're doing a great job! Keep working with it. I found that brass wire was harder than the gold because it is thicker. The gold half round worked better for me with the bindings. Just keep practicing and soon you'll feel ready for the good stuff. ( I'd go for it myself ). That cab is awesome BTW. T

I never knew you could get wire in brass either, that's kind of cool. Was it very hard to work with? You should get some round wire to for practicing so you can get the feel of both kinds, they are (at least to me) different to work with. Good job though, keep practicing.

I have findings for jewelry in 20, 22, and 24 g wires.... 24 is by far the easiest to work with. And its what I use to practice wire wrapping, I figure no need to try to fight with the wire any more than i have too!
