I asked Blarney if he would wrap a cross as Takila wants to give her mom one. After we get it today, Takila tells me her hypochondriac mother can't wear metal..... Like I told Dan, maybe I'll keep it and hang it from my Harley. Kinda like blessing the bike kinda thing. To put this on a cord would be a sacrilege. Thanks Dan.

That's too bad her mom can't wear metal, there's lots of people who have that problem though. I've been trying to design something for my daughter-in-law because she can't wear metal either.

I wondered "whatsup", when I saw Edog posting here. Beautiful work, Blarney! You did an amazing job, both with the wrap and the rock. And what a coincidence that the amazing cross matches the Harley?? And the scooter? Or not...
How unfortunate, that Takila's mom can't wear metal. So how do you wrap something amazing, without metal? Seriously, I am wondering. I have a rock and a relative who is allergic to metal. I was going to drill a hole and use a leather cord. Makes me wonder if someone, with more expertise than I, could wrap a rock w/leather? Or some of that leather cord with wire inside? Would the metal wire still cause problems? Any takers? K

That is beautiful! EDog isn't that the color of your bike As for wearing metal, how about some enamelled copper? It comes in a wide variety of color, including silver, it has a thin plastic coating on it - maybe that would work?

I have a friend who is allergic to some of the compounds used in metal and she can only wear high quality gold (22-24k), but we've had success lately with some of the Artistic Wire because of the polyurethane coating on it. I have a bit of a nickel allergy so I have to coat some items with nailpolish and that works in my case, but not in hers...
OMG Blarney is AMAZING!

Platinum is hypoallergenic, but on the pricey side. Personally, I'd just assure her that it's not in fact metal but some new space age plastic. It's all in the head. That's a beautiful piece of work.

It would look just fine on a silk cord.....................it's just his way of keeping it! I'm the one that picked out the stone!

That came out great. Drilling a hole and then using leather cord is a nice and easy way to wear something
