Haven't done much lately...but got 3 done today, plus a gift for my StepDad. Unknown. This came off the piece I listed in the ID section. Came from Utah...Moab area. Plume from a Friend Dino Bone from another Friend. Those Pesky Dino Hairs! Gifts for my Stepdad. He is a Big time Salmon fisherman, and thought I'd try cutting and grinding a fish for him. I figure he can mount this in his boat somewhere. The cross is a first for me. I also drilled the Dino Bone above and put it on a necklace for him. Hope he Has a Happy Birthday! Thanks for lookin' Steve

I love your cabs but that salmon is just incredible with both the shape and the stone you chose. Great job on your first cross. Your step dad will sure be happy.

That plume from a friend reminds me of a volcano shooting out some lava sparks and then a plume of steam or ash into the sky.

I love the egg in the first pic, and that salomon ... it almost smells like fish, so real it seems to be! I think your stepdad will be enchanted. The dino bone and the plume are also beautiful.

Thanks you guys and gals! I never drilled the fish. I wanted to drill it in the upper fin so he could hang it on his boat somewhere, but I also thought of drilling it on the lip area, for a keychain. I guess if he wants it drilled he can mail it back and I'll drill it for him. Maybe he'll just stick it somewhere in his boat or on his dresser at home...who knows? I hope he likes it. I actually had fun doing it. I haveone of those kingsley north gem drills which can also be used as a carving machine. It's the 1st time I used it for this purpose, and it worked out pretty darn good. I just used my genie tray as well as one of the spritzers, and that kept the stone and the diamond wet enough. I will use it more for this purpose, especially when I get more B-Flies and smaller fish cut out. It really smooths the inside corners and curves out. Thanks again for the Kind Words! You sure know how to put a Smile on my Face! Steve

Great job on the salmon, Steve! You have great carving skills. Love that plume. It reminds me summer is gone... finally, and now I can start hoping for snow!!! T

Steve those are all Awesome, you are a pro now. The first has a Epic shine. The fish is really cool too also the cross. I have made crosses for my family and they are tough to do and to get straight lines, your method worked well.
