Hey everyone! i spent two days looking around at Graveyard Point, Idaho. I have lots of photos but will post a few at a time. Any help in identifying this stuff would be appreiated. I think I have some plume Agate. I found a vein of something by digging around some small thing that caught y eye, so these first pieces are from that. Nancy

You found some really cool rocks. I'd love to know what the green one is. Me too I was hoping I'd get some feedback on what these rocks are for sure. I think, I guess, I have some Plume Agate, some Regency ? Agate, the green ones copper Ore??? Interested in the amber colored agate too. If it is it's own thing or a piece from a larger Plume agate? This is all so confusing

Nice looking stuff!
A couple of thoughts for you: 1. It's hard to ID true rough; a clear cut face really helps. 2. It's generally easier to figure out the minerals that make up a rock than to identify a rock. There's a finite number of minerals, but an infinite number of combinations of them.
There are certainly rocks that have distinctive characteristics that can be used to identify them even when they're very rough (Lake Superior Agates and Montana Agate come to mind), but I think it's hard with most. Rough seam agates (and jaspers) have so much in common that they're hard to distinguish in my opinion.

I was there in June with Catmandewe, and we found some stuff laying around one of the hills, but on our way out, we saw another hill with a steep incline that look promising. I'm hoping to do this trip again in June.
Excellent pictures...looks like you had better look than what we did:)

As always, I like that agate! Do plan on working them in any way?
