Hey, not so bad. Your prongs and bale are super clean. I'll bet if you got some half-round, those bindings would behave for you. Looks like you had them pretty tight and then they spread a little during crimping. I'm still working on that one. These closeup photos always show more flaws than the eye sees. That's what keeps us striving to improve... so our photos will look better! LOL. BTW, the cab is incredible! Jo

Beautiful cab! I agree about the bindings, half-round would have made it perfect, but it's still a nice wrap

If you crimp as you go (wrap once, crimp, wrap, crimp, etc.) instead of crimping afterwords, that would also help. When you do it that way, pull the wire just slightly over the other wires that are already crimped instead of exactly parallel to it. Then when you crimp, it's forced next to the wire and creates a nice parallel line. Only you know that when you first positioned it it overlapped slightly!
Other than that, I really like the top and the holding bends. The half-round will also let you get the wire frame closer to the cab. (Gorgeous cab!)

LOL, I don't come to this section a lot, but the title drew me in. I've done a lot of boat anchors and have the scrap wire to prove it. The good news is it gets easier and you get better. Not perfect, but not a boat anchor either. Curt

keep at it. Your prongs are very neat. I'm glad you didn't throw it cause the wire would have survived (the wire always survives) but the cab may have broken.

It is really looking good! You may need to support it a little more on the lower r. side to keep it from falling out but that is just a thought. Keep up the great work here! Fran

Your comments are too kind, really. I am sure the half round would help the bindings but I am not ready to spend on good wire at this point. I am sure glad this practice wire came on a 50 yard spool. ;D Frane- The prongs are oposite on the back so it is in there tight, that is until I cut it out and try again.
