I have not taken the time to cab for several months, but yesterday Tammy asked if I could make a couple square cabs for a project she wants to start. After some extensive milli-seconds of arm twisting I went to work. First two are from the Mozarkite I and Peyton collected a few weeks ago. Royal Savannah Jasper. Mel ID'd this once! IthinkIforgotite ;D Thanks for looking! John

Beautiful cabs. May I ask what your wife is going to make with these beauties?

Well thank you all and I should not have made Tammy's project sound so mysterious and actually we started a week ago with an acid etched plate. I should have taken a picture for the creations section.
Our OB doc is moving back to Oklahoma to be close to her family and we have become friends with her, her husband and kids through church, so we just wanted to do something to thank her and her staff for all they have done for us, for example: When Tammy's incision needed attention she said just call when you are almost finished nursing the baby and we will expect you in a half hour or so, we would leave the house, go to the office, get the wound packed, dressed and be home in 45 minutes. That is service! Gotta love small town America.
We took a clear platter and etched from underneath in a circle around the edge "Every good and perfect gift is from above" and etched a big baby in the center. Tammy delivered it last week filled with cookies and as the day went on and cookies disappeared the etching was revealed. They loved it.
This week she is making a necklace for each of them.
As always thanks for caring!!!!
John

I bet she had to twist your arm really hard to get you to come up with these fantastic cabs. I am impressed and I bet she was too.
Thanks for posting there John

Well, there ya go John. When you're in the basement too long, just say something like
But Honey, I'm doing it all for you.

I like the shapes and the material is great. Glad to see the mozarkite you and Peyton found is top notch and that you got to cab for a bit.

Wow, great batch! I love the soft pillow shape of the Royal Savannah. Great job on them all, though! I hope you'll post some pics of the finished necklaces!

Wonderful work. I really like the square shaped cabs vs. the round ones. I have a template for square cabs, but find them harder to do than the round. You did a great job on these! Nice work.
