I just got back. If your after agates head east a little bit and go to the grasslands office in Wall. They sell a grasslands map for $10 and have some known spots marked. You can collect anywhere in the grasslands though. A map is a must so you can tell where you can collect. We fould some really nice prairie agates there. We stayed at the Grizzily creek campground just outside of Keystone (no trailers allowed), I found some decent rose quartz and mica in the national forest around there and the road at the camp site is full of little agates.

Definitely buy the Grasslands map Sask talked about. There are numerous agate beds, marked by tiny signs, in the grasslands in the Badlands area. Hunt any of the grasslands, you never know what you will find. Try Railroad Buttes too. Wish I was going along! Nona

Railroad buttes was a great place. I went there on my recent trip. It had a really good road going in that I found really nice stuff just off of.
