Last night I made 6 cuts on my saw. On the last one I left the saw running as usual and went into the house for the night. This morning at 5 Ihappened to step outside and heard the saw on. The brass switch chain had come off and the carriage was all the way to the back. Is there any damage that can occur when this happens? Just wondering. Thanks.

Look at the back of the threads on the auto feed screw. There should be a point at which the threads stop and the vice won't go any farther. I've done the same thing nothing happens except you use a lot of electricity for nothing.

The constant pressure on one side of the blade with no pressure on the other side of the blade can act like a tool on your spinning blade and cause it to dish. It really depends on if your blade is tight against the remaining chunk of rock or if the blade moves away from the chunk of rock after it finishes cutting. If it did dish it, you can just turn the blade around and run it backwards for a while and it will usually dish it back to where it should be. Good luck with it............Tony
