:help: Hi all,I am 2 days into my first tumbling. So yes I am a newbee. We have a wet tile saw, if I bought a diamond blade would I be able to use that to cut my polished rocks in half? Thanks

You sure could. Just remember, if they are already polished, you will have a rough underside and need to gently angle and do a bevel cut around the bottom edge to smooth it out (you can do that by gently putting the angled edge against the side of the saw blade and turn the stone. That keeps it from being so rough and should help it to eliminate chipping, etc. that shows up after the initial cut. Also, you can throw them back in with a batch usually in the 500 grit stage unless you feel that the cut was a bit uneven. Then throw it back in the earlier stages. Most of all, have fun! Fran

Absolutely! Many members use the WorkForce from HomeDepot. You can by the cheap replacement tile saw blade for about $20 and make several hundred small cuts. Use lots of water for cooling and cut slow with minimal pressure (no sparks). This will determine how long that blade lasts.
You can buy a more expensive lapidary quality saw blade and make cleaner cuts and watse less rock, but the majority of members are probable using the standard replacement blade.
