Hi everyone! For the newer members, both last year and two years ago there have been organized Christmas gifts exchanges here on RTH. In my opinion, both of those actions were great, brought fun and joy. Both of the organizers (LadyB two years ago and Ozzy one year ago) fully succeeded in their actions and I'd like to congratulate them again for this. Lady Beabea or Ozzy, would any of you like to take care of us this year? The time is not very tight yet, but it's not plenty either. Adrian

Yay! I love the Christmas gift exchange. If you would all like, I could take care of the arrangements this year? I could contact Kate this week and get the particulars on how she did it.

Tony,
I KNEW you would respond with something like that!!!!! If I was the one sending gifts to everyone, there would most DEFINITELY be an issue. Tony still hasnt gotten part of his xmas gift from 2007 LOL. However, organizing via threads and pm's wont be an issue.

Depending on what all is involved, I am definitely interested. Of course being a newbie not sure I have anything to offer.

sford13:
Generally, a questionnaire is sent out asking what types of gifts you are interested in receiving, such as slabs, rough, finished jewelry or maybe even non rock related items. After all of the questionnaires are received by a certain date, everyone is given a name and a specific date that your gift needs to be sent. Basically, you send a gift, and you receive a gift. I do believe that sometimes you have to be a member for a certain amount of time to join in though. I will start researching the details of past exchanges and get in contact with Kate and start putting things together.
Looking forward to it everyone!

Can I give different than what I want. For example - if I have cabbed/faceted stones to trade , but I want rough??

Toad - that was part of the questionaire in the past - what can you offer and what do you want. With Kate's, at least, it wasn't a 1 to 1 exchange. You might have Shannon, I might have you, Tony might have me. That way you receive (and can give) what you like!
And I'm in again as well!

Todd,
When Kate organized the exchange, there were questions asked so that you could narrow it down to the types of things you would like to receive. I see nothing wrong with this. Its the thought that counts first obviously but if you have tons of finished jewelry and DONT want jewelry in return, there is nothing wrong with writing it in your questionnaire. I will try my best to match people up accordingly.
