I was planning on staying home and doing fall fixem up projects around the house this weekend, ya know before winter sets in and you can't get to anything, but Friday night the weather man said that Saturday was going to be a beeeeuuutiful day, and my FIL said "I sure would like to go rockin tomorrow" and I was like a baby perch on a 10 lb line. No matter what I was plannin on doing, I was goin into the boat! (or in this case into the Owyhee's) Gave Jason a call late Friday night and told him I would be at his house at 630 am, he said Good!
Glad we did, too. We found a new source of jasper, and lots of good leads on some other sources, and one of our gulches that we thought was going to be a gooder, turned out to be a dud. But hey, we know where not to look now!
(Turned into a 18 hour day from the time we left home till we got back.)
I spent most of the day Sunday cutting up some of our finds and unloading the pickup, in between fixem up projects ya know!
Then it started raining last night and kept it up for most of the day.
Glad I went rockin while I still could.
My baby slab bucket (I filled up my live minnow bait bucket because my regular slab bucket is full and overflowing and needs to be emptied and cleaned)
left side
right side
Some cool landscape jasper
We found quite a bit of this stuff
The middle stuff with the blue was a big nodule that weighed about 15 lbs, cool stuff.
I really liked the banding in this, and I thought if I turned it 90 degrees I could get some cool swirls, but it turned out pretty plain, the banding looks better.
another nodule
A different kind of jasper, didn't find much of this but it is interesting
And this one is my favorite, wish I could find a truckload of this stuff
Thanks for lookin...............Tony
