In an earlier post, there was a question about the agate nodules from the Turtle Mountains in Ca, so I'm posting a few pictures of what we've found there. Most of the nodules are sugary, or very light colored from being exposed to the sun for a long period, and are tossers or tumbler fodder. Some though, when cut, are wonderful. Their color doesn't vary much from whites and blues, but the patterns can be well defined, and if you hit sagenite, rejoice! Some of the more interesting pieces. You cut a lot to get them. Blue banded With sagenite, size sometimes doesn't matter.

Those are really great little agates! Are these found easily still?? I love Agate nodules and I seem to find some killer patterns even in the smallest ones. Thanks for sharing. Steve

Nice finds! My favorite is that sagenite one which reminds me of some Beacon Hill (Near Weiser, ID) nodules I found when I was a kid. Garry
