How many of you in the Northeast are getting hammered by this storm? Looks like a doozy for some of you.

We missed this one, the one that hit the mid-west got us tho. Our neighbor with the genuine John Deere snow blower had to do our drive in three stages. From the street to the front of the wife's Blazer. From the back of where the Chevy was parked to the front of my Escort, and then, from the back of where the Escort was parked to the garage door. The whole process of diggin out took 5 days total for us. Standing in the open door of the garage and looking at the TUNNEL leading out to the street I began to think that the only reasons a person would have to live here in Iowa would be they are too poor or to dumb to leave ! Global warming ? ANYONE that believes THAT is more than welcome to stop by my place and I would be more than happy to walk UP the snow drift against the side of my house and step DOWN off it to the top of my industrial size garbage can and drop the bottom half of my snowmobile suit. With their overly active imagination, they can take it from there ! Harley Long rant, sorry !

We are taking the hit for ya! Totally crippled as far as I can tell. I tried to go to the post office. Dug out, finally made it out of the parking lot and onto the street. Passed folks stuck and got to the main intersection and two cars were being pushed out of the street by the police and others were stuck on the side of the road. I passed the post office in order to get turned around but could not see the driveway or their parking lot because the snow had not been cleared there and there was no one parked in there. We came home and had hot chocolate instead...gifts will have to be late. Fran

Dang Harley... You guys did get hammered, and it looks like next weeks storm has a bullseye on you too! Ya got any more room for snow removal? It sucks when you not only have to shovel, but it has to go up and over the bank! Call me weird or a Northerner, but I like a big snowstorm. I like to bundle up and go out and experience the fury of Old Man Winter. The big pond is usually rockin' and it's fun to go feel the enormous waves crashing through the ground. It's been too cold to snow much here. Only a couple/three inches on the ground. The last 3 weeks has been mostly below zero. We went from no ice on the lakes to a foot in that time frame. We'll probably be driving on the smaller lakes soon. Everyone stay safe and warm!

I plan on going up to my fishin shack on the Miss. River this weekend and shoring up the roof on the annex I added on to the trailer. It has a flat roof and I suspect it needs a couple 4x4's to keep the roof where it is supposed to be !
IF it isn't sitting on top of the wood stove already !

Not a flake in the sky YET, it's suppose to start around 7pm for Boston Ma. I'm staying away from the stores, too many flakes pushing through the isles for bread and milk.

Northpole: Yep you are a weird northerner. I guess I'm a giant ole wussyboy but just the thought of all that snow makes me shudder. When it gets below fifty you'll see me bundled up like a freaking eskimo. Went to a Christmas singalong night before last and I had on a long sleeved undershirt, flannel shirt, my next to heaviest jacket and a wool hat and I were still friggin cold *L*.....Mel

My Grandson is still waiting to be able to use his snow boots I bought for him. It looks like over Christmas we might get a litttle snow or maybe just have MUD. Stay safe everyone. Donna

I'm hoping the one coming mid-next week drops at least a few inches my way. We picked up 1/2 inch from the mid-west one last week. (30 minute north managed 3-4 inches...), but other than that we've had just about nothing. Would really like SOMETHING to make the cold worth it!
