We are still under ice and snow but I have some starts. I also like gardening more flowers and fruit trees then for food. We also have a large koi pond, looks like they all are going to make it though the winter The garden and pond is what started me with rocks ;D

Our spring season usually ends about the first of July. Too hot after that and in August we start our fall gardens, vegetables mature in cooler weather and usually have better flavor, however, its hard to get in the mood in August when its over 100 degrees usually.

Oh wow! you are off to a great start there! It sure does get hot in Texas! I always had my gardens in a fenced area (10x52) and had to put the shading burlap on the fence so they wouldn't burn up in the heat of the afternoon. Had some good gardens there though! Fran

Snuffy What variety tomato do you use? I planted a few maters last year for the first time in years. My wife picked up some Big Boys or some modern variety and they didn't do shinola.

Curt, Celebrity is basically all I plant now. Two years ago I planted a few big boys side by side with the celebritys, thebig boys had very few on them and the celebritys were loaded.

Oh Snuffy I am ready to plant too, but I can't plant outdoors until the first of May. I can't wait no chemicals and home grown taste so good. I love to play in the dirt, gardening or rock hunting. Donna
