Highs in 80's,lows in 50's.Had my first 2 poppy blooms today. They used to be doubles but have reverted back to singles over the years. These are the type used for poppy seed, yall. Dont get any ideas. My 'maters movin' on Still have some come back.Never know. These doubles are the prettiest. After the reds bloom, double pinks will be next. I'm posting a lot of these pics for my daughter to see, they are in North Carolina and she checks on here to see the pics. snuffy

Im gonna miss seeing those poppies...but maybe you can ship me some maters this summer. Ive never seen you plant them that way, is that something new? Gotta remember to keep those deer away!

Beautiful garden. How deep do you place your PVC? I know it is supposed to help keep the tomato worms off of them, along with the cut worms. I would think it helps to keep that root ball cooler in the summer too! Fran

Those were cutoffs from columns I picked up on the job. The rest of them have 5 gal.black pots with the bottoms cut out pressed into the ground. My main purpose of this is to protect them against the wind while they are young. We have a couple of days south wind 30 mph, then couple days north wind 30 mph, then south again. Also helps watering them, put several inches of water in the pot and go on to the next one. This is my 36th garden,I'm gonna learn all the tricks before long.lol

I sure know about those winds there! My son is still at our house in San Angelo, Tx. Flat land and the wind just cuts right through! Your Poppies are magnificent! I have always loved how they look! Fran

We'll be in the 80's soon, but don't have anything like that growing. Nice.
