I'm thinking about buying a new pixie, any thoughts out there of a better use of the money?

They are about $20-$30 cheaper than the American Lapidary place that I posted arbor prices from earlier. Although their boxer attachment is $15 more. I stop short of wanting a Pixie/Genie at this point because I still plan to do all the fine and polish in the vibe. I can get a 2-3 grinding wheel unit for a lot less. Also, don't forget ebay- a used Pixie just went for $670. FYI - There is used Genie on ebay right now: cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6601783045AND a new one - cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6601555940

Exactly why I bought the Ameritool flat lap machine! $399.00 vs. $1400.00 On a budget sometimes one has to settle, but you know I really like the silly thing. And so far it's produced nearly 100 cabs and shows no wear! I'll get the genie when I sell enough that the rock account can bear the cost. Untill then, I'll use what I can afford and be the more experienced for it. Fatty

thanks all but the budget stops at 1 large - would love to get a genie but boss says to start with this and if I like it, I can trade up later. the pixie also meets my space needs better so where the credit card.

i bought a pixie last jan. wanted a bigger machine as i am rather large myself lol. i talked to allot of rock people they all said get the pixie then trade up so i went with that. i love it is not to small i go 220 lbs plus lbs. and can palm a basketball easy big hands. the only problem i have is hitting my cab on the wheels next to the one I'm grinding on ( i get in hurry), take your time and its not a problem. i paid 950.00 for mine at quartzite last jan. they are a little more now but not much. bought some other things with it so you may find it around there if you look around. just looked here he has many dif. types listed some seem high but may give you some other choices( lapidarydiscounts.com).George
