I wrapped two more cabs so figured I'd show you all. I wrapped them both in 22ga argentium silver which is supposed to be non-tarnish silver. Unknown stone from Ralph via Amber (smaller cab - 25mm x 19mm) - it isn't the size of the cab it's how you wrap it, right...lol Sparkly stone from Randy - it doesn't show in the pic but it has sparkly bits in it so I'm thinking maybe mica? What about it Randy? (cab is 44mm x 19mm) How's the size on those pics Tonyt? Thanks for looking.

cool wraps! How do you like working with the argentium? to me it felt weird like it was not metal but its real easy to work with
it does not tarnish like sterling silver but does go a golden color. I had some that did that and almost confused it with my gold wire.

Thank you all. It really helps to have your nice comments. Keeps me wrapping even when nothing seems to come out the way I want it to. You know, some days the wire just doesn't want to cooperate. Coming from fellow wrappers you compliments mean that much more.
2badfrog, I think it works just like the silver I had although it seems to be easier to curl but maybe that's just me getting better. I did not know it went to a golden color, does it clean so it stays silver? I have never worked with gold wire so guess I won't have the confusion problem ;-)

Very nice wraps. I love this site because everyone has such different styles and they are all good. It gives us new ideas. And keeps us motivated to keep creating. Next time I get wire I am going to get Argentium.

I have argentium also and it will tarnish, just not as fast, and go to the golden color. Great wire to work with though! It does clean up too! Your wraps look fantastic Diane! Keep them coming! Fran

it cleans up easily, a lot easier than tarnished sterling! To me is cleans up a lot like the gold filled wire does

I got told today by a wire wrapper in the mineral club here that people allergic to nickel can't wear argentium, anyone know anything about that? I had heard that it did tarnish eventually into a golden color and you and 2badfrog confirmed what I heard, thanks fran and frog.
I agree amy, I get so much inspiration and motivation from all the people on here it is unreal.

I am allergic to nickel and it is funny the argentium from Rio Grande does not give me rash but the stuff from Monsterslayer does? Go figure, I think all the wire makers have different percentages of metals and that is why it affects some and not others, I like the Argentium I think it holds up way longer. My Mom got me a jewlery box lined with that anti tarnish paper and it really helps prolong the tarnishing of silver. I think she got it on HSN years ago.

Thanks for the input, Amber, it is interesting that one maker's wire reacts and another doesn't. I like the argentium so far too. Haven't had it long enough to know about the tarnishing but it seems to me to be easier to work with. Don't know why but it just twists and bends differently. I've heard about that jewelry box and the strips before, might have to invest in some later. I also might have to get some jewelry cleaner. I don't normally wear jewelry but I really am proud of some of my pieces so might wear those when I'm not working. Any suggestions about the best, maybe inexpensive, way to clean the wire wrapped jewelry? Thanks

Hmmmm, I somehow missed these. Very cool! The first one I'm not exactly sure, I purchased several large chunks from a local plant nursery.

So it's plant nursery rock, an unusual find for sure Randy. Thanks.
