If I could just get someone's opinion, please!? This is, of course an older model but it still works. The switch is rusted off (in the on position, that's how I was able to test it). I am selling it on ebay but was wondering if someone could give me an idea of a fair price for it. I know a new motor is around $245.00. I don't know how old this one is. I'm going to guess anywheres from 5-15 years.
Thanks for your help - Donie

Donie---vibra-sonic hasn't been in New London, iowa for prob 25-30 years ( like late 70's or early 80's ) think they were bought out at least twice and now Diamond Pacific has them ---- one nice thing tho is you can still buy the same parts and they fit ! ;D the price has just gone up-- in 1963 the whole tumbler was $193 ( I have a magazine article/ad ) , last year I finally wore out the barrel on one and it was $228 for just the barrel according to the serial number ( 0104) I'd say it may have been made in the early 60's -- I have some of the 50#ers that have the serial numbers in the 2 hundred range and they were made before 1962 ---- I know the guy that bought them new back then as for what it's worth --?? -- you may or may not get a bid on the $50 , especially since the shipping is another $25+ ------- if it is that old ( mid 60's,--which I think it is) you'd be taking a chance on how long it would run ( you can usually find old motors for $5-20 at flea markets/garage sales that aren't that old) this is a "specialty" item so may get $25+ for it ,but have to find the right person that could use it

Thank you! I appreciate the information as I really don't know anything about such stuff! The old rockhound I am helping to sell it couldn't give me very much info on it & she wasn't real sure how long ago her husband had gotten it. Someone offered me $20.00 for it & if it doesn't sell this time around I might take him up on it! Donnie

Would you happen to know what brand motor they might have used in those older models? I am trying to determine if the motor has been replaced. I am going to take a picture of the plate on the motor. It is a GE.

yes the original motors were "GE" -- they have a shaft out both ends for the counter balance and pulleys to fit on -- not many motors are made that way --- if the bolts that hold it inplace are rusty like the switch then I'd say it prob is original as they tend to last a long time, but, do wear out------- ;D I was going to offer $50(shipping included) if you don't get a bid as I have the top plate and extra barrels ( 6#) that fit it ---so may be able to piece it together again and get it to run for awhile --- would also need belts, springs , and switch ------ let me know

OK, I will let you know. If I don't sell it this go around on ebay we probably have a deal! I assume that you looked it up on ebay since you know I started it out at 50! Thanks - Donnie

Hi Donnie, the value would be alot more if you had the whole machine. I have 3 of the larger Vibra sonic tumblers. They are great machines. All of mine, I bought used. The only value your bottom half would be;is to someone who has one to use for parts. Someone without one, after priceing a new top, barrels, springs and belts it would scare most if not all away. They are well built and pretty much classified as a commercial tumbler, as who would want to spend $1500+ on a new tumbler? Without the top and at least one barrel, it will be hard to get much for it. Sorry, Daniel
