Finally emptied out the 6QT Lortone today. Had a bunch of nice pet wood from stoneviews, and a bunch of what I think is either Michael John's boysenberry agate, or maybe some (burro creek?) purple agate, also from stoneviews. I'm happy with the results - I didn't try to do any shaping before I started these - just wanted to see what they would look like all shiny, and if maybe some would be worth reshaping for cabs. The whole batch: ![](http://i713.photobucket.com/albums/ww138/tkrueger3/082410%20big%20barrel%20batch/082410batch004.jpg) The purple agates: ![](http://i713.photobucket.com/albums/ww138/tkrueger3/082410%20big%20barrel%20batch/082410batch005.jpg) ![](http://i713.photobucket.com/albums/ww138/tkrueger3/082410%20big%20barrel%20batch/082410batch010.jpg) ![](http://i713.photobucket.com/albums/ww138/tkrueger3/082410%20big%20barrel%20batch/082410batch009.jpg) And the wood: ![](http://i713.photobucket.com/albums/ww138/tkrueger3/082410%20big%20barrel%20batch/082410batch007.jpg) ![](http://i713.photobucket.com/albums/ww138/tkrueger3/082410%20big%20barrel%20batch/082410batch011.jpg) ![](http://i713.photobucket.com/albums/ww138/tkrueger3/082410%20big%20barrel%20batch/082410batch012.jpg) As it turns out, there are a number of rocks in this batch that might make nice cabs, once I find the time to fool with them. Thanks for looking, Tom

Toad, I just gave it 2 weeks in 60/90, 2 in 120/220, then 1 week each in 400, 600, 1000 prepolish, and 1 week in M-5 polish. I didn't even try to do any shaping on them - I was just looking for shine and potential for cabbing.

Yes, amazing shine considering short time on the front end. Nice.

That's a nice batch. I think the wood was the winner in that race.
