Folks, I finally attempted some cabs. I find it hard to get myself going on them.Well, anyway here they are. 4 palms and reguler wood Tiger eye,Gary green,brown,2 crazy lace and blue ice from bobby1 Pet woods on top,? and green moss agate. I found out the camera doesnt lie when I saw the faults in these. snuffy Any criticism is welcomed. You aint gonna hurt my feelings. I love slabbing and tumbling, but unsure about cabbing.

Hey Snuffy, Don't give up on it if you like doing it. I tried for over a year to get it right. I'd scratch em, grind em too small, skip steps because I "thought" it looked good enough, throw em off the wall cuz I was mad, you name it. Than I finally got one to come out just right and I haven't been able to quit since. Keep on making em!

Some good material there. They do not appear domed at all. If this is how you wanted them great. If you are looking to dome spend time working from the outside in making a little hill in the center. Paitence and practice but most of all have fun. ;D

Hey, Snuffy - if you have a bunch like that, and they are all about equal hardness, you might try polishing them in the vibe. Especially hard stuff, like agate, quartz, etc. I've had some pretty good results doing that. But don't put the soft ones in there - at least not with anything else!
Just my :2cents:

Tom, I vibed these, since I dont have a cabbing machine. The shine was excellent on them, the borders were uneven on some.I didnt do a good job of getting them even.

Oh, I see. Yep, I have a good bit of that as well! Usually, by the time I notice, it's too late to save it. Tom

Hey Snuffy, I just love that Ice Blue. I love the variety of cuts you have. You'll get better with the borders as you practice. You're off to a good start.

Aw you'll end up addicted to it like I did. After scraping off a couple of knuckles and fingertips, now every time I see a nice stone I can't wait to get to cutting and polishing...
