I picked this up this past spring at the Mt. Mushroom and Ky. Agate festival. The collector sold it to me because he wanted to see some cabs cut out of it. This agate is worth much more as a specimen I am amazed at its size and beauty. Yes I am having a hard time cutting it. This is a back view along with a rare Dulcote Agate from England it will never be cut. Close up of the face its just under 11'' wide. This is another close up of the face. Another close up along with the Dulcote agate. The Ky.Agate is an end cut it varies from an 1'' to 2''in width. George

Wow, I didn't know KY grew them that big. I don't think I would cut it.

Here is one more with another Ky. agates and another one that will never be cut. I found it after wondering lost in the desert with a visiting German rock hound that I was introduced to at quartzite. Top one is the Ky. agate The one by the lighter is the desert find. George

I lived in Radcliff for about 3 years never found a rock worth keeping other than a fossil or two.If I was you I would make it over to Estill county and look for some Kentucky agates. We should plan a Kentucky agate hunt this next year. I am meeting up with a few of the Estill rock hounds here soon to get some locations to hunt. Here is a link to some really nice Kentucky Agates kentuckyagaterocks.com/ This is the rock hound I bought the Ky. agates from he told me he had the largest Kentucky Agate collection in the world. Some really nice agates. George
