www.slightlyshadyseo.com/index.php/googles-user-data-empire/I read a report that the CEO recently said they wanted to do things but things that didnt cross over the creepy line. He then went onto say that they could implant chips in people and then know who we were, where we are, where we went, etc etc etc. If thats not creepy - I dont know what is. The sad part is - that if they did put an offer out for people to come forward for the implant - there are so many saddos out there that there would probably be millions of volunteers. G = Gross for me. I think they are gross - thats me being polite. What do others think of them these days?

Good idea, especially with all these baby boomers headin’ in to the home stretch. Half of these f**ckers are gonna get Alzheimer’s and wander off, and it’s a pain in the ass to find ‘em.
"No need to call the cops - We got an app for that."

No implant for me either. If I decide to get lost it's for good reason and I want to stay lost.

The younger clubbing set has been getting implants of their credit cards for the past several years. Now, the scary part. Several years back our government mandated that ALL cell phones have GPS cards installed. That is really good IF you call 911, need help, and do not know where you are. The 911 operator already knows where you are. The down side is, ANY time your cell phone is turned on, it is leaving a bread crumb track. Woody

I've seen this coming for a long time. The universe is about balance. For every good, there is an evil. I have been talking about this chip tech, to anyone who will listen, for years.
Firts the ultimate good idea....everyone is chipped and there are no more missing kids. No more lengthy investigations of crimes(you know who did it and where to find them). No more missing persons. Tax dollars saved through fewer police and less court time needed.
The ultimate evil.....the criminals will be the first ones to find a way around the chip. You are always potentially watched( more than you already are).
It's interesting to note that some people would value there pets over their children. Chip the pet so you don't lose them, but be opposed to chipping your kids in case they are taken.
I can see both sides of this argument. It's a tough call.

I usually don't need a chip for my wife to find me when I wander off. I have a cell phone!!! except I usually forget to turn it on until my wife eventually finds me and says (in an angry tone)..."WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? .....I"VE BEEN CALLING YOU FOR THR LAST HOUR!!!!!" This happens at shopping centers and other large venues as I wander aimlessly looking for a new or used bookstore. Bob

It's called the Internet (Tracking Cookies).
Over there in the UK we hear there are cameras everywhere, watching traffic, pedestrians, watching watching watching
On this side of the pond, people excuse any infringement on freedom as long as its for the children
Cell phones can track your movements...love it or hate it

They do apparently it's for our own safety! If you want chips read upon this guy he's had one for a while. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_Warwick Not really anything new. Mobile/cell phones squawk to the nearest mast (not sure on times but say every minute or so) when switched on. They can tell to within 30 ft where you are without you using the phone. Google cell phone tracking. Who needs gps. Big brother has been here for years, nobody has noticed is all. Simon

Remember the movie Logan's Run. Were they trying to tell us something. There is talk about chips in drivers licenses to. Cops will just have to scan you as they follow to see who is in the car. Scary!!

Sounds like a good reason to set that new license on the anvil, and give it a few whacks with a leather mallet before putting in your wallet.

Interview w/ Google CEO Eric Schmidt: The end of the interview turned to the future of technology. When Bennet asked about the possibility of a Google "implant," Schmidt invoked what the company calls the "creepy line."
"Google policy is to get right up to the creepy line and not cross it," he said. Google implants, he added, probably crosses that line.
At the same time, Schmidt envisions a future where we embrace a larger role for machines and technology. "With your permission you give us more information about you, about your friends, and we can improve the quality of our searches," he said. "We don't need you to type at all. We know where you are. We know where you've been. We can more or less now what you're thinking about."www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2010/10/googles-ceo-the-laws-are-written-by-lobbyists/63908/
