What do you consider 'fair price' and how much do you need? Also, sometimes it is hard to tell if there is true fire in the piece until you grind on it. PM me, also.........your Quartzite box should be there tomorrow!!

You know, for me, Fire agate is one of those things you want to buy on a per piece basis. Mine run bulk lots are fairly expensive, often 100-300$ per pound and lots of the pieces often have just plain old gold fire or no fire or are ungainly pieces to cut. Best to go to one of the big outdoor shows where they usually have graded rough out in the sun for sale on a per piece basis. In the sun, wet, you can often see the fire layers even on unwindowed rough and can choose pieces with the color you desire and a shape that lends itself to easy cutting. It may cost you more weight wise but your yield will be much more satisfactory with less chance of being ripped off. I personally would never buy rough fire agate except outdoors in the sun.....Mel
