Here is a smaller piece of jade exhibiting some of the blue green to green hues associated with the Mt. Baker area. I also pulled out a very large piece from the same area that went 280 pounds and exhibited much more of the blue jade color - if you want to see a picture of that one let me know. John

The one above is a rock that I'm trying to sell. There are some carvers in Vancouver that really like the bright and unique colors. The big one took two of us to get out along with a really specialized canoe. I ended up bringing out the 280# blue, a spiderweb jade at 163# and an 89# grossular garnet (see separate threads for photos) along with about 40# of smaller pieces in one trip. Got them all into the canoe and worked to guide the thing down 4 sets of rapids. It was in December and was about 20F outside - made for an interesting and completely exhausting trip. It was definitely worth it although at the time I wouldn't have said that. Here's a picture of "Big Blue" with a quarter on it to show scale.
