That looks mighty fine! I use a Canon Power Shot, works well and was not too expensive.

That's a beautiful thunder egg Roy! As far as cameras go, make sure it's got macro, or even super macro for close up shots. I have an older Olympus Camedia c-5000 (5.0 mega pixel) which has both. Most well known brand name cameras are pretty good for the average user. Maybe research them online a bit. Best buy and wal-mart have customer reviews on their websites. When reading reviews, I liek to take them with a grain of salt. Not everyone will be happy with a product. But if I read several reviews with the same complaint, then I know that issue may be a problem with that product.

I use a Kodak Z1285. It's not overly expensive, and has macro. My problem is learning the various light settings. Once I get those figured out, I'll be getting good results from it. Don

Hey Roy - As self proclaimed Thunderegg pro - Keep in mind they can be pains to photograph in any case. Depending on what locality I take photo's of, and what light I use I have to change my camera all the time. I try to keep my photo's as best as I can to the correct color so my buyers get what they see.
Nice egg you have as well - Came from the Richardsons ranch. Probably from the Moss Bed
