Metalartz,
I`ll be posting Holley Blue on my web-site. Though send a e-mail, for a reminder for windowed rough.
I well only list a small amount, As i was one of the last hounds to dig their legally. i dug the Scott mt. area since 1961, Shame it is close.
I do Thank the Hill Family for sharing their land to all of the world. to enjoy the right to dig on their land.
The site was close from kids on four - tracks out of bonds. More to the story. Ended in a Court hearing!

I`v found fire agate to de 7.2 on the MHO-Scale.
Though best to remove the clear agate formation on top. i use a silica 80 grit wheel to grind the rough. Rounding the wheel a bet. to work in around the Botryoidol formations. the i grind into the Backfire the convex side and trim saw edges. then to the rotatory. for week or so.
Sort out the easy ones and use diamond burrs on the Concave side or the convex side. a lot of time the back fire looks better the the top of the Botryoidol formation. with the clear agate on the stone. A lot of time i use a VSV-Vibra-sonic 45. with Garnets to work in around the Botryoidols. Pre-shaping is key. Though i feel most people prefer to crave fire agate, Deer Creek fire agate is that way a lot of cap formation of clear.
Thanks George
Some where in RTH their is a great article on working fire agates.
