Couldn't take it.... been waiting around for my rotaries to get finished with the rough, and they are no where near. Buckled down and spent a night doing some dremel preforms, burned out after 12 stones and put them in the Lot-O with a lot of ceramics. Gotta say, I LOVE my Christmas present. Out performed me and I am happy! Whole batch, please ignore my fingerprint in the middle of the picture, when I saw it, I didn't feel like redoing it... Close ups: Snowflake Obsidian Sheen Obsidian Different angle Transparent Obsidian (Sorry, don't know the name..,.) Another angel 2 for 1 piece of Obsidian that was a bugger to photo, never could get it right but here is the best I could do different light Like this shape, Obsidian Lapis Goldstone (tried to angle to see the shimmer...) And lastly... A pretty little Lummi Island Beach Glass stone that I wanted to experiment with, what do you think? ~Krystee

How long in the Lot O for the entire time?

Hi Julie!
I use cheap (imported) diamond wheels from Amazon with my dremel because I don't have a saw or cabbing machine yet. I cut my shapes with them and then use the flat top side of the wheel to grind away any flaws and smooth the edges. I always use endcuts/slabbettes to make my preforms. I also use the wheels on tumbling rough to get rid of pits and flaws.
As far as the Lot-O, 8 days total. Started with graded 220, 500 AO, 1000 AO and ended with AO polish. I also added borax to each stage. The trick I learned with glass is that I need to keep it in the 500 with no recharges until I can begin to see a good reflection, if I move it too soon I will never get a good polish. I leave mine in 500 for more than 48 hours. Then I switch to the 1000 wich initially hazes it back up again, then run until it looks almost perfect. At that point I switch over to the polish bowl. I don't burnish after.
~Krystee (modified post to clarify that the diamond wheels are cheap China imported ones, cost $4.95 for set of 5. With glass I can do several pieces with one wheel and they are double sided just like the expensive Dremel diamond wheels. Seem to last just as long but at the fraction of cost.)

Fantastic Robin! I know I've said this to you before but, sure prefer the Lot-O over my old Raytech. There is no comparison!

Being the visual person that I am ... PRETTY PLEASE ... could post pictures of your equipment.
I have a portable table top grinder that has the dremel cord attachment (got at Harbor Freight) and some diamond bits. I am thinking this is what you are talking about, but not sure.
Thanks!!!!
