This egg was sent to me by a friend, who wants me to cab it up for HER friend in Canada......I thought onyx....but I dont know my rocks really well, so thought some of you may have an idea. Would be very grateful Thanks everyone in advance!!! Marie

looks like a calcite onyx to me, possibly honey onyx.

Yep, what Redwood says, one of the travertine type calcite onyx group. Literally thousands of tons of that stuff comes out of India and Mexico. It takes a good polish but don't overheat it on the polish wheel as it will fracture your cab. It's pretty heat sensitive. I broke a beauty awhile ago..Mel
