I posted a while back the pics of my girlfriends first batch. I bought her a tumbler for Christmas, and I'll be darned if I haven't got addicted as well. She's got another batch tumbling right now, but in the interim, I had to try some of my own. I bought some rough Apache Tears and started them around the 1st of Feb. Well, I pulled them out of the polish today. The pics really don't do them justice. I don't know if it's the camera, or the photographer - probably both. Anyhow, here they are. I'm guessing the flash reflection caused some of the grayish/white outlines.

Pic is not the best (as you said) but they look very well done - especially for such a difficult stone. Apache tears are not for the newbies, but you did great!

Pic is picking up SOMETHING in the background! Course that means you have a mirror finish on them! Nice job!

Oh those are beautiful. I've been tumbling for almost a year now and haven't tried any as yet. I do have some and I guess I'll have to try them the next time I have an empty barrel. Keep up the good work.

Tried the picture again today, with indirect sunlight, no flash. I think that made the difference.

Oh, yeah...veeery nice!
I'm having similar problems with my pics...I think I got better ones this afternoon (overcast skies) than over the weekend. As snuffy, told me before "not in direct sunlight!" When will I learn?!

Hi Yes the last Pic is great
if you are taking a photo in direct sunlight always photo with your back to the sun and the rocks in the shade of your body
this stops reflection messing up your photo,
Other wise make up a light box for those winter photos,
You did exceptionaly well with those Tears

Much better pic. I can see the tree and what looks to be a brick house in the reflection- now that is a shine to be proud of!

Thanks everyone for the positive feedback, all. I'm thinking beginner's luck, but very pleased, just the same.

Amazing batch! Seems that everyone is trying tears and doing a wonderful job on traditionally difficult material! Beautiful! Fran
