Won  I didn't realize that obsidian could look so GREAT. I must add that to my list of sones that I want to get. But it seems as thought I am wanting to get all of them. :help: I need help :help: Is there a meeting that I can attend that can help me with this obsession?

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I rinsed the batch from 1000 today. The slag and hunk of Obsidian will NOT be moved to polish. I am too worried that a layer might get exposed or fall out, going to take the advice of people here and stop while I'm ahead, besides I can see my reflection in the stone and it looks great under the loupe, so I'm jubilant! The cabs on the other hand are lapis and a couple of "Idon'tknowites" and from my experience with the lapis, I know I can get it mirrored better with polishing and burnish. Guess I'll do a solo run with those and a barrel of ceramics next week. I'll get the pictures of the whole batch posted in the next day or two. I would do it today but my family is coming over for Easter dinner. With 13 hungry people here, I'll be too busy to sneak off and play . Happy Easter! ~Krystee

If it has sparkly metallic looking gold flakes....it would be considered Gold Sheen Obsidian. Hard to tell from the photo. Nice piece!
