Hi Unclesoska, I think it was more of an invitation to post some pictures rather than a challenge to do so. ;D The "challenge" in tumbling is never inspired by that of another person. The challenge is inspired by the stones themselves. In that regard you took the challenge and ran with it and as a result you now have brought to the forum a FEAST TO THE EYE. As well your talent as a photographer gets an A+++.
From one uncle to another, thank you
Stu

Thanks for the kind words Y'all! Jack- some of the rocks are local, others are part of a pile I found in a place they had no business being in. P.S. I was a commercial photographer in a past life. LOL Stu- yes, the rocks were challenging, but figuring out photobucket and posting pix here was a tech challenge in itself. Looking forward to your 1st tumble or cabs now that you have the equipment figured out.

Very nice second batch- I would say that mirror finish has been achieved. Photobucket was a challange for me too- now I can actually handle it from my smart phone! Technology is really amazing sometimes!

Not every day one gets to check out some scenery by looking at rocks, the reflection is great; the job is great. I like the variety. Thanks for doing and showing.

Really nice selection of rocks and great job on the tumbling efforts. My first batch was, well, a first batch . They look good in the appetizer tray too! Out of curiosity, who long did you have them tumbling?

Paul- 10 days in 120/220 Sic- Grit changed daily, and grit added every 12 hours. 3 days 500 Sic. 2 days 1000 AO, and 7 days in AO polish. Burnish w/ Borax between grit changes, and separate bowl for the polish cycle. Altogether about 3 weeks. This was all in addition to a course cycle of 60/90 in the rotary. Thanks for asking. I'd also like to thank all the members that have contributed their hard won knowledge on this forum. My rocks wouldn't be shiny without you guys!

Thanks for the details on the tumbling routine. My boyz and I are still working through different "cycle" patterns, trying to find our way, so to speak. So many rocks, so little time...

Great tumble and great pics of your finished product. I really like the close up pic of the rocks in the tray, very crisp and shiny.
