I tried early morning light and I think I like this photo lighting the best so far, for me anyway. These are from a 12lb run satrted May 7th The rest of my yellow jasper and a mix. I don't know what the brown stripped one is but it took a great shine and no under cutting I've looked at this one under strong light and with a magnifying glass to try and determine what the black spots are and I don't know. They don't look fossil - ? This is an end cut and the spots go all the way thru it. I was experimenting with photo editing trying to capture shine and better detail. #1, before edit and #2 after edit #1 #2 critiquing appreciated and TFL........G

Nice tumble! The background got a little bright on your editing but it sure brought out the colors with saturation. Do you have a sharpness setting on your editing program? It kind of adds some dimension to digital photos which just can`t mimic 3-D. I use a free one I downloaded called Photoscape. It really has some neat features.

Gary, I love the rich colors in that batch. Your editing in the 2nd photo really brought out the colors much better. Great work!

While I would agree that photo 2 enhances the colors more, I think photo 1 looks more authentic. I have a cheap point and shoot camera and long for getting a Nikon D3000, but alas the purchase will have to wait until funds are available. At any rate, I can empathize with the desire to maximize the photographic impact of the stones--given the months of TLC creating the products.
I wonder if the mystery stone could be some sort of palm root...?

Great batch. Very nice polish on them beauties. I liked how you had control of the brightness in the third picture and the sharpness in the last picture best.
