Patrick fished this out of one my garage sale buckets. Obviously at least part of it is pet wood but I'm curious if the whole thing is. Can someone ID this for me and tell me where it's from? Hopefully someone recognizes this! Is it half agatized wood and half agate? Thank you!

Yep, Looks like Arizona wood though some similar does come out of Colorado and Utah. Most the AZ pet wood is Araucarioxylon arizonicum ( a Monkey Puzzle Tree, Norfolk Island Pine relative)....Mel

Awesome, thanks everyone!!! I would have never guessed this was wood if the preserved bark wasn't there! It's very colorful stuff and looks like it would be great cab and tumble material too. Now I know what to add to my "buy in the near future" list! Mel, thanks for the tree ID too! I've seen many of these in the Pacific NW, Patrick loves them. In fact, here is a local video link about those funky trees and how they came to the NW: www.king5.com/on-tv/evening-magazine/Monkey-Puzzle-Tree-104451548.html
