Thanks Diane I know the type of rock it was found with It’s a popular landscaping rock they use in Phoenix This type of rock is found abundantly around Dreamy Draw Kind of shiest or gneiss material lots of colors - but not particularly good for polishing to grainy/ sandy
But this piece is different It will definitely take a shine Seams that when the rock was mined out of the mountain the shovel or dynamite struck an area that was jaspering in tight layers I found a hearty hunk of it!

WTG, Ed! That one looks like it holds lots of promise! ;D My question is, what's taking so long to slice it? I wanna see what the inside looks like. My imagination is running wild trying to figure it out! I'm wanting to lay my eyeballs on the real deal!

Ed, we had schist and gneiss in PA where we used to live and we polished a cab from it. It was tricky, but every time I show someone my cabs, they always point that one out. It can look really cool polished.
Great job on the hounding Ed... I agree with everyone else... get that suckka sliced! Jo

Hang on Jo I found a colorful mountain of this material and I don’t mean an intact mountain a mountain of chunks! at gravel pit company it must be 30 feet high & 60 feet around I’m waiting for the rain to take a picture it’ll bring out the colors better No one will mind much if I hound that lode my larger saws are unavailable do to the heat index so Ill have to have patience I don't want to hack this thing to pieces stay tuned though I’m going for a ride braving the heat I’ll take a picture of the rock pile where I found this beauty how much more exciting can it get ? ;D

This is the type of rock landscaping that is so popular in Phoenix and where I found my wonder rock some of its so valuable they caged it ha ha do other cities use this technique? I had picked up this piece some time ago It filled with pyrite & thought it will make a neat sparkling rock’n heart I’ll get too that when it cools down Hears another piece I’m fascinated with that lavender ? Color ! Figure I can get a good polish Your right Jo much of this material may very well polish finer than at first glance

anyway if anyone is real interested in a close up you could save the pic to your computer and enlarge it in a Photo Editor
