This is a weird one I cut today. I thought it was Mahogany Obsidian till I cut a slab. Inside it has areas that are silver sheen and purple sheen. Different material for me. This was from a fist size piece. The cab is a big one for me 44 x 32. The sheen looks like reflected clouds

Nice cut! - Much of the gold sheen we find down at Glass Buttes has the mahogany color. There's also another material once called Fire, and now since the primo discovery of fire obsidian they now call this other material peacock.... It has banding of mahogany and black. The mahogany has gem grade gold sheen and the black had the peacock coloring. Obsidian is fun material. Never know what you'll cut
Nice stone Chris!

Thank you everyone.
Yeah this is one solid piece not a doublet.
Jason this material is pretty much as you describe except instead of gold it is silver around the mahogany and a rainbow flame on the other (left) side. The mahogany is flat with no sheen. I have some other material that is the mahogany/gold sheen this is very different then that though. Only the black has the sheen effect.
