A friend asked me for identification of the attached stone. I have the permission for uploading the picture. My first thought was Hickoryite japer, but I am not sure, because there is to less purple and to much yellow in it. Have somebody an idea, please? Looks like banded flint/jasper . i do not think hicorite , mostly because of the quartz vein in it .

Some sort of sedimentary jasper. If you could find the source, this would cut some interesting picture cabs.

Looks like a picture stone - as above a sedimentary stone that has been cooked a little. You got a good polish on it - often they don't polish past a soft shine. There is a huge slide at Hope BC that is the better part of a mountain - a lot of picture stone. It is under claim but there are bits everywhere.
