Thanks to Jakesrocks (Don) I discovered that the UV 10 I inherited was not an industrial model, and upon talking with Al at Tru-square I learned that the motor will not handle rocks in the 10 lb. bowl. I ordered a 3lb. bowl from the Rock Shed, but upon fitting it to my base I soon saw I would have to get creative. The all thread on my tumbler is not threaded low enough to attach the bowl to the base, and if it were, one still could not because the lid does not leave any space for the washer and wing nut.
So, following another tip Don gave about making a spacer over the all thread so as to not have to turn the nut a zillion times, I adapted his idea to enable mounting the bowl. The old backed washer was peeled off so I used a glue that does rubber to metal and made a new sealing washer.
Then I took a piece of pipe just large enough to fit over the all thread and cut a piece that goes through the hole in the lid and sets on top of the washer. One puts the bowl on and another washer followed with the wing nut. It tightens the bowl to the base and the lid all at once.
The thing about that is one can't start the batch with the lid off, adjusting amount of water, seeing if the stones are moving in a vortex, etc. Also, I have to unplug the tumbler anytime I want to peek to see if I need to add water. I cut another longer piece of pipe to use when getting the batch set up.
It works... I think BikerRandy runs his UV 10 with the lid off... I could just do that, though it is more noisy, and splashes some and would need water more often. If anyone has a better idea on how to mount this bowl, I'm all ears!
