Dear Experts, I have several rocks that I need help identifying. Any information would be helpful. This first one is a rock that I found at the river, the red spot caught my eye. Extremely hard, was a challenge to cut. The first 3 pics are of the same gem. First pic is a piece that I cut off. This second one, I thought the colors were cool. Front and back or back and front.... This is my little surprise rock. Have found several of these...knowing my luck, not real. Just a cool treat. My husband tells me I pick up too many rocks. I think he was surprised about these. Pretty sure this is moss agate. Kept trying to scrub off the algae. End cuts off of two different rock, left is the moss agate. Right has same type of pattern with dark green also. It appears I cut through a fossil on the left one. This is the rock for the right end cut. Difficult to see the dark green in this pic. This is a pasture find. I thought from my research this was pet myrtle wood, except it looks like a pic of Hawk Eye with the grain going both directions??? Pet Myrtle Wood? 3 views Another one that I liked, a mess to cut, but the pattern was pretty. Not sure what to do with them. Not sure what this stone is, pretty pinkish color. End and a slice. Another river find. 2 views (2nd is wet) My bubble gum agate...? Another river find. I love the pattern, looks like an angel wing. front and back. Another river find. Another river, was just weird looking. Pasture find. Looks like a bird walked on a piece of salmon. Lots of Drusy. Thank for your help and for looking. Sorry there are so many pictures. DJ

First off where in Oregon are you? - I'm east of Portland on the columbia.
The 3rd set of photo's looks like quartz with pyrite or marcasite.
The 4th does look like a various form of Moss agate.
Your 12th or angel wing piece, looks like Biggs Jasper, however it has something that's a bit different. I seen a large stone which looked very close to this found in the Deschutes River.
The bottom specimen is a piece of fortification agate, almost carnelian with as you said druzy quartz center.
Nice stones!

I live east of Creswell. All of my river finds on this post are from the Calapooia River. The angel wing piece was lodged in some rocks on the rivers edge, about 3" dia, 3/4" thick. The quartz and the moss agate rocks were found further up stream, from golf ball to little larger then a softball size. Thanks
Ted, thanks for the confirmation on the myrtle wood.

Nice - Do you know anything about the Thunderegg beds on the Calapooia? I bought a bucket of them years ago from a fellow and never heard about them since. I do know people dig them, however they are a location egg, rather than a quality specimen.

Hey, We all carry too many stones home. lol The sixth one has to be a suckling calf stone. All that is missing is the bottle. The bubble gum stone? I find the same looking stones but mine are black and white. I have been told that the black is oxidation. I am still trying to accept that because most of my other agates have white oxidation but the person that told me knows way more about rocks than I do. The last agate with quartz drusy is beautiful. Lots of that here and I have made a lot of cabs with it. Great finds. Jim

Not sure why he complains, I generally carry the bag back to the vehicle, unless he decides to feel sorry for me. LOL My bubble gum stone, looked like a piece of bazoka bubble gum between two rocks, bright pink color. The last one is really pretty, the color is awesome. PS I love Wyoming. My parents moved to Oregon in 1962 from Torrington. I was ready to turn around and go back.
