Hello everyone! This is a bit of a strange one. After returning from Scotland last August,I was looking through my photos and noticed this one;-it was taken in a very dark cave using the flash-mainly because it was so dark and slippery and I was sort of worried about vanishing down some hole-no torch,so I shot with the flash just to check it was safe. It was only after messing about with the picture that I noticed the "glowing circles",and the other two outlined pieces. Does anyone know or can guess what it/they, might be?I'm back that way again in a few months and intend to investigate further with a torch this time!Any help greatly appreciated, thanks John.

Sorry about the pictures -they were zoomed in but photobucket wants them this size!

The two round spots (far left and center left) circled look kinda like photographic artifacts to me. Almost like large dust spots reflected by the flash, i think they are too uniform in shape, translucent, and the luminance and apparent chromatic abbhoration around the edge make me think this. But the two shaped spots circled to the right sure look interesting. It is tough to guess with the lighting and increased saturation but if you get a chance to go back with a good light i would sure be interested to see what you find. Good luck with your search.

Thanks all of you for your replies, firstly,in response to Sampson,I took several photos of caves, just flash-quick snap to see where I was-due to lack of torch, nothing similar appeared in any others;-the problem I am having is that the other circled items(to the far right) give off the same glow/luminescence-although not the roundness, please believe, my camera lense was clean and has never given artifacts in any other photos that I have taken, although I take on board your comments-I am no expert and genuinely welcome all and any explanations! Should perhaps add -this is red sandstone lava, and I was agate hunting in a very well known area of the midland valley on the east coast of Scotland;-is it at all possible that these are agate nodules? And more?John. Many thanks for all replies.

Ed. Thanks for the reply,-it has me totally foxed,if anyone can mess with the pictures like I did,(I used photoscape-free-open source software).and basically just increased the backlight, and zoomed in,although it doesn't seem to translate via photobucket,I feel certain that one or two members of the community know the score and can tell me if this warrants another visit,or is it a samsung/photobucket fubar? Thanks again everyone,John.
