OK, the Lot-O arrived on Thursday. I am assuming the Rock Shed sent everything because I haven't even had a chance to unpack this thing yet because I have a job. First question is qualified. Does anybody aside from Jack from Yorkshire...who sent me some incredible rocks that arrived this week as well...FROM SCOTLAND!!!, eat your hearts out, ...does Scotland have one "t" or two? anyway, anybody know anything about a platform that I'm supposed to build to set the Lot-O upon so that it will work propperly? Spouse is away at his parents this weekend, so if this thing has to be built, it has to be built by me...who took a whole weekend to build a lightbox out of a cardboard box! Jack said it has to be sturdy or the thing won't work propperly. He's got a great eye for jaspers. I believe him but have absolutely no idea of what he's talking about...and his weekends tend to be busy! Assistance is requested and required for continuation of my mad geological explorational experimentation.
On that note, I think I have completed stage one in the 3X 1.5 Lortone. How do I get the remaining grit off the rocks. I know, photo's would be helpful, but it has been one heck of a "soul sucking" week at work and I really don't think I have two brain cells left to rub together to create an intelligent photo on this. I took a, singular, photo on Thursday morning of the mix when I stopped it. I removed all of the plastic beads upon the mass protestations here, added some beach quartz from my windowsills that I picked up on the beach in Jacksonville, NC 4 years ago when we went down for the birth of my grand-daughter because her Daddy, my eldest, was in Iraq...along with my middle son. They're bringing her and her brother up next month to play with Grammy...which would be me...and Grumpy, who is The Spouse in absentia this weekend. I'd like to have at least one made up nicely for her....maybe even wrapped for a necklace! because she is a pirate and VERY into rocks and treasure! We go collecting either rocks or pine cones every time I see her!
But I digress...
I need to know how to proceed on this tumble load. Stage one...how do I get rid of the grit? Some stones still have pits and fractures...but I'd kinda like to keep those. I'm feeling good about where I'm at with it...How do I move on?
All of this, and the goal of my weekend is to get the below surface fracture out of my circle "unknown jasper that has incredible ocean scenes" cab...plus I'm going to have to put in at least 5 hours at the office to get possibly remotely caught up on the "soul sucking" job tomorrow... I've got a lot of little kids in this county who are counting on me to do my job for them...so I could use some help because I really need my rock stuff to be fun and relaxing because I'm looking down the throat of Whooping Cough and Spina Biffida and some fierce hunger right now with State and county funds gone and I'm not a happy camper! Hunger is one of the most ugly things I've ever seen and here we do not have the money to cover the current need. I need my rocks to be fun because, hard as I'm trying, I can't fix what's broken. Guys, I need you to help me here because I need at least a couple of hours a week where I can look into rocks and see the universe and know that everything will be okay. I go to work every day and it's not.
God bless you and yours! I'm gonna go unpack that box...
