I removed the switch today, bypassing it by soldering the wires together and then wirenutting. The switch cut out last night and the machine sat idle. I have been sensing it cutting in and out recently, and finally it became utterly unreliable. Using a powerstrip makes it easy to turn on/off. Anyone else have to ditch the switch on these? Seems a weakness in the unit.

No problems with mine, been using it since I became a member here. (UV-10 is why I became a member here) ;D

Probably better to replace the inline switch rather than have a wire nut connection in the cord. Splices are against fire safety and OSHA codes even when taped up and safely done.
