I posted this within my last UV10 thread the other day, but I wanted to see if anyone else had any thoughts. I don't yet have a lot of jade cut up, and wondered if anyone had managed to polish jade before I tried to get enough to run a vibe batch. Geoff suggested trying CO polish. Would this work? Has anyone successfully polished jade that can validate this? Thanks for any help. Here is the current state of the jade in the UV10 using AO polish:

A good percentage of jade is mixed hardness material and will undercut (onionskin or pit) in the vibe, especially in fine grind stage. I've tried to tumble several types ( Wyoming, Washington, Porterville and a little from Coulterville, CA and the only one that did not undercut was the last type which is a very hard and homogeneous jade. I suspect, each jade boulder is different as jade can vary so much in composition so I'd expect tumbling results to vary greatly too. Cromium oxide is the usual preferred polish for jade.....Mel
