Okay Ed, you asked for it! Here's some photos of some of my cabs: These are some of the first ones I did. The two blue ones are dumortierite (from Indian Pass), the two purple are lepidolite, the three light colored ones are feldspars (I think) from the Blue Lady mine, the one on the lower left is a hand turned marble of it. The other two are unknowns, most likely picked up as slabs at rock shows. With the exception of the one on the far right (which I think is a pudding stone, some kind of conglomerate at any rate) these are all fossils/corals from our local desert. A lot of corals out there! I'll post some photos of those in the appropriate place when I get them uploaded. Miscellaneous The leaf shaped one is a green jasper of some kind, the others are obsidian, a regular type (which needs to be redone!) and a rainbow obs. Jasper - Imperial?? Crazy lace agate and graphic granite Cabs just waiting to be wrapped. For size reference, the cardboard strips are about 1 3/4" wide. Some of these were found, most were purchased as slabs. The top row is mostly druzys from Wiley Wells area, shaped and polished on edges and backs to be wrapped. Second and third rows are all local corals from Salton Sea area. The last two rows mostly purchases. Thanks for looking! Will be posting more stuff, if you can stand looking at it...

Thank you! I've been cabbing for a couple of years now. I use an 8" Ameritool flat lap, and although I have an Inland dop station, I prefer to not dop.
I met Ralph and Maryann (stonesthatrock) at Quartzsite in January, bought a couple slabs of the Mojave turquoise from them. Will try my hand at that next...

Nice assortment on shapes and colors.
My favorite is the second from the left at the bottom row of the second-last picture. LOL Looks like a Rhiolite?

Thanks you! I believe it is a Mookaite. Something picked up as a slab at Qurtzsite.

This is an early wrap I did. I realize the colors are a little different, but this piece came from the other end of that same slab!
