Beacon Star made pretty good equipment. But without seeing pictures of the sale item, it's impossible to tell if it's worth the drive. You might try contacting the seller to see if he'll post pics.

Ask if he'll email pics to you. I won't buy anything sight unseen. You might drive all the way to see a rusted out hunk of junk. If you do go to look at it, check the bearings and other parts before putting your money down. As I said, Beacon Star made pretty good equipment. If it's been taken care of, you should be able to get many years of use out of it. If not, parts for those older machines can be hard to find.
