Haven't seen a recipie thread in a while, so here is my question:
What grit/polish stages do you take your stones through?
Thanks.

That depends on type of tumbler and types of rock.

my process is 60/90 SiC in the rotary for 10 days, clean, repeat as necessary until a decent amount are pit and crack-free.
Next I clean everything and put it in 120/220 SiC for 2 days in the UV10 (vibe), rinse and repeat for 2 more days.
Rinse, replace SiC with 500 AO for 2 days
Rinse, put in a separate bowl (polish only) on the UV10 for 3-5 days with AO polish
Rinse, enjoy.
This only works for hard stuff. I have seen fantastic results with a different (similar) process on Obsidian, but when I do Obsidian it never takes a shine.

I'll be using a rotary for first stage only. Vibe for all subsequent.
