Cut some preforms from last week's material we collected. Since I had the saw set up, thought it would be ok just to cut one more ugly rock. This is unlike any SoCal jasp-ag we've ever seen. Rocks with eyes or major color changes would be pitted like crazy. All of this rock will take a polish. It's going to make some interesting cabs. Just read that this material is 7-14 million years old. That's when Red Rock Canyon was formed, ash layers fossilizing plants & animals too. We'll keep our eye out for agatetized cavemen! LarryS

What do you do with them now? Am I going to see you on my side of the show tables?

Karock, I'm hooked on Parawire. User friendly for beginners and doesn't show tool marks. Actually I'm doing it Christopher's style and not using tools. Born in Hemet? So sorry. I'm probably going to die here! My parents retired out here. Mom use to pick apricots here during WWII. Wife went to high school here. Even though everyone lives in Orange or LA county, you end up in Hemet. Don't know if that's good or bad!

Larry, those look really great.
My favorite Hemet memory was about 30 years ago. We were snake hunting. Got really hungry for lunch. We pulled into a roadside diner in the middle of nowhere. Looked like a honky tonk that serves lunch too. We said "hey! we're hungry, how about a cheeseburger, fries and a coke?".
The server responded with, "no. How about cheeseburger, beans and a beer?!"
"sounds great!" we were 18!

Oh yeah, we have lots of snakes. Weeks ago when they started the annual Ramona Pageant, the famous outdoor play, they found 5 rattlers right in the gully where the kids hide behind rocks. For those who don't know about this play, kids dressed as Indians hide behind rocks up a hill and don't appear until the end and they all stand up.

Racquel Welch starred in it many moons ago.
