Finished these the other day, they are all local beach stones most of which were jaspers of some sort. They were in each stage for 7 days. My mobile phone is refusing to connect to the laptop anymore so I only have 4 photos to show! will put more up later if i can

thank you very much jo and cathy I put those in straight off the beach, no smashing up. Alot of the beach rocks (as you all will know!) including those there, have pitting. They didn't/don't have REALLY bad pits but I would like to see if I can reduce the amount of faults. So I have just put another batch in but this time I managed to find a few good sized rocks so I broke them up into rough. Can't wait to see if it improves the outcome of the next batch

nice, i like the electric toothbrush idea.
I used a toothbrush for a batch but it was really annoying for the next few days when I kept getting grit in my mouth.
Nice polish and cool rocks, congrats on a nice first batch.

One of the first lessons I learned after my first batch - stay in stage #1 - coarse - as long as it takes - this is the most important stage - once the rocks are the shape and smoothness you are looking for the following stages really won't change them much. P.S. Buy alot of coarse grit!!!

You picked some nice ones for your first batch. Well done! What's that gleaming silvery one in the middle?
